Thankfully we survived Hurricane Hermine with minor damage to most of the Forgotten Coast area. St. George Island saw some flooding of the bay and several docks received some damage. We live in Magnolia Bay in the Eastpoint area and never lost power. Alligator Point saw the most damage with several homes damaged and the main road was washed out. We were very fortunate.
Sales activity for the month of August remained strong especially on St. George Island. There were 50 total sales – 26 single family homes, 2 townhomes, 2 mobile homes, 2 commercial land sales and 18 residential lot sales. St. George Island saw the most activity with 20 total sales – 13 single family homes, 2 town homes in 300 Ocean Mile and 5 residential vacant lots. Apalachicola had 10 total sales – 8 single family homes, 1 mobile home and 1 residential vacant lot. Carrabelle had 8 total sales – 3 single family homes, 1 commercial land sale and 4 residential vacant lots. In Eastpoint there were 6 total sales – 1 single family home, 1 block of 3 commercial lots on Island Dr. and 4 residential vacant lots. There were 4 sales on Alligator Point – 1 gulf front home, 1 mobile home and 2 residential vacant lots. On Dog Island there were sales of 2 interior lots. Sales prices ranged from $11,000 for a .33 acre residential lot in the Las Brisas subdivision in Eastpoint to $675,000 for a 5 bedroom/5 bath 1st tier home with private pool and tennis court located in Schooner Landing in the Plantation.
